I wonder why this time around, this word was never used to celebrate both Deepavali for dear Indians and Hari Raya for Malays. We always had the Kongsi Raya thingy when Chinese and Malays celebrated theirs few years back. Maybe I have been too busy to go out jalan-jalan to enjoy the festivities or to go to one of those lanes in PJ and buy all the food you can see for buka puasa. Yummmm... I can feel the rendang in my mouth now.
This is one great thing about Malaysians, no matter what race, we all LOVE food! And that it brings us all closer together. Bring me for a great Nasi Kandar anytime! Which reminds me I have yet to bring one of my friend to banana leaf rice, something we both enjoy a lot, since I was so busy. Somtimes work deprives you of all the life that you can have like spending quality time with your family and friends and most importantly yourself.
That is why I am taking this advantage and bringing the whole family for much needed R n R to Kuching during the DeepaRaya hols. I am so looking forward to it, just doing nothing and eating. Heavenly.
Happy Deepavali and Selamat Hari Raya everyone!
Will be back just in time to shave Peter's head off!
